Cars: Supercharged[1] (simplified to Supercharged™ or the Supercharged Series)[2] was the first ever brand refresh applied to the wider Cars franchise, launched ahead of the 2006 holiday season to succeed the original film's theatrical run. The upgrade encompassed virtually all Cars media and merchandise, establishing what would become an annual tradition up to the eventual sequel release in 2011.
